John Howard, formally acknowledged the importance of both the International Research Centre for Healthy Ageing and Longevity (IRCHAL) and the Second International Conference on Healthy Ageing and Longevity. The Prime Minister was represented at the Conference by the Hon. Julie Bishop, Federal Minister for Ageing. Ms. Bishop's refreshing Opening Address was one of the many highlights of the Conference, and is available on the Boxed DVD Set of Conference Proceedings.

2005 Conference Co-sponsored by the World Health Organization - A Great Success

The Second International Conference on Healthy Ageing and Longevity was held at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre on 18-20 March, 2005. It was a magnificent meeting ranging right across all disciplines with over 80 world-class speakers, "the who’s who of Healthy Ageing". The Conference was co-sponsored by the World Health Organization. The International Research Centre for Healthy Ageing & Longevity (IRCHAL) developed the Conference Programme. In the 3 days there were 95 papers presented by 85 Speakers from 15 Countries across the globe. More details

Conference Proceedings Available on DVD!

The full Conference Proceedings are available in a boxed DVD Set. A great educational tool, the DVD Set features over 80 world-class speakers, and includes all Plenary, Concurrent and Workshop sessions, including the Gala Dinner presentation by Dr. David Suzuki. The full proceedings of each annual Conference will be recorded on DVD. The 2005 Conference is series two, in a library series of 10. More details

Following the Inaugural Conference and the launch of the International Research Centre of Healthy Ageing and Longevity (IRCHAL) in March of 2004, a growing number of scientists, researchers, clinicians, allied health professionals and policy makers are collaborating with IRCHAL to further the Centre’s objectives and develop the Annual Conference Programmes.
